The Sowing Peace Initiative is an initiative of one person who desires peace for the whole world. With limited funds I will use what resources I have to organize events that sow seeds of peace in human hearts. Since I have web design experience I will use that resource to the best of my ability and strive to have a positive web presence. I aim to build the Sowing Peace Web site to be an excellent resource for those seeking peace.
I have been inspired by the Greatest Peace Ambassador of all time who said, “O that I could travel, even though on foot and in the utmost poverty, to these regions, and, raising the call of "Ya Baha'u'l-Abha" in cities, villages, mountains, deserts and oceans, promote the divine teachings! This alas, I cannot do. How intensely I deplore it! Please God, ye may achieve it.” (‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Tablets of the Divine Plan, p. 41, 42)
‘Abdu’l-Bahá was 68 years of Age when He travelled extensively in North America including a visit to Montreal, Canada. I am now 67 years of age and it is my wish to fulfill ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s desire. I am now free of obligations and can travel where ever I am called. Although I would have been willing to set out on foot or on Bicycle, I now have a car and can tarvel more quickly.
“Ya Baha'u'l-Abha” is an invocation which means "O Glory of the All-Glorious." By invoking God, the All-Glorious, we become part of His plan for peace. Without His plan, any effort for peace would be short lived, for it has been proved that the plans of man tend to be self serving and not in the best interest of the entire world population.
I plan to open discussion on this and other aspects of establishing world peace. All events organized by the Sowing Peace Initiative are open to all who desire peace. All ideas and contributions will be considered and discussed by any interested parties. We will continue to investigate until the Truth is known. ‘Abdu’l-Bahá says, “...the darkness of imitations encompasses the world. Every nation is holding to its traditional religious forms. The light of reality is obscured. Were these various nations to investigate reality, there is no doubt they would attain to it. As reality is one, all nations would then become as one nation. So long as they adhere to various imitations and are deprived of reality, strife and warfare will continue and rancor and sedition prevail. If they investigate reality, neither enmity nor rancor will remain, and they will attain to the utmost concord among themselves.” (‘Abdu’l-Bahá, The Promulgation of Universal Peace, p. 221, 222)
Until I am called to go elswhere, I will be holding events wherever I am.
I would love to coordinate efforts with you, but feel free to do so on your own. Although I may have started this initiative, it is not mine to keep. I will be pleased if many more take the initiative to sow seeds of peace throughout the world.
